Neuronal Data Analyzer Lab is made for experimental scientists who do not program. The best way to make it better is to hear from you: what was unclear, what broke, what your lab needs. Everything here happens on GitHub; a free account is enough.
Ask a question
For “how do I…”, “which setting should I use for…”, “is this result right?” and general discussion, use GitHub Discussions. Questions there help the next person with the same question.
- Search the guide, the Help in the app and the existing discussions first: your answer may already be there.
- Say what you record (technique, sampling rate, the stimulus), which window and step you are in, and what you expected.
- A screenshot of the window helps more than a long description. Never post data you are not allowed to share.
Report a problem
Something is broken, an error appears, or a number looks wrong: open a bug report. The form asks for what is needed to reproduce it:
- the Neuronal Data Analyzer Lab version (in the footer of every window) and your MATLAB version;
- the window and the steps you took;
- the message in the status bar or the MATLAB command window;
- whether it also happens with Try demo data (then nobody needs your files).
Report an unclear or wrong explanation
Every Help page, lesson and message is meant to be understood without programming. If a sentence confused you, or you think a statement about a method is not right, tell us where, ideally with a source.
Request a technique or a feature
Open a feature request. Describe the experiment first (what you record, how you stimulate), then what you want the tool to do. Planned work is on the roadmap.
Cite it
If Neuronal Data Analyzer Lab helped your research, cite the software and the method papers of the analyses you report. The citation and a BibTeX entry are on the About page; the method papers are on the references page. The Methods text that the windows write names them for you.
Follow new releases
- On GitHub: the repository → Watch → Custom → Releases. You get an e-mail for each new version, nothing else.
- Or subscribe to the releases feed in a feed reader.
- What changed in each version: the release notes and the changelog.
